This is my new 2015 winter collection. Règne de la beauté just like the latest movie of Denis Arcand showcases the beauty of magical winter scapes one discovers in the Laurentians, Québec. The valley, evergreen trees and ondulating fields and mountain ranges remind us how beautiful is winter.

This collection is from my summer trip to Killarney in 2014. It was good to return there and capture its beauty and wilderness and to note that A. Y. Jackson played a key role in the creation of what is today's one of the most beautiful Canadian wilderness destination.

Phillip Edward Island is large island near the north shore of Georgian Bay. What is remarkable about this land mass are the many finger islands/rocks made of pink granite reaching out into Georgian Bay. With the assistance of a guide I spent many hours motoring between the endlesschannels marveling at the very smooth pink granite rocks and cliffs set against the turquoise blue water of Georgian Bay. This collection is for all the sea kayakers and sailors who have spent time in this special region.

The A Saffron Summer collection is inspired from my cycling adventures along la Rivière du Nord in the Laurentians. It was deep into summer and the hot hazy landscaped surrounded me as I cycled the route known as 'le petit train du north'. I remember the intensity of the heat and the warmth of the sunlight upon my body and the landscape. The smells of the forest and the heat of the afternoon had a saffron quality about them. I chose shades of yellow and ochre to evoke this mood. The use of a limited colour palette gives this hot summer day a saffron fragrance.

Situated not far out of the town of Entrelacs is a marvellous far reaching vista of our lake. The locals refer to it as the lookout. For the first time last spring I ventured up there alone on a cold wet day. The view captivated me and I have since returned several time to gaze outward at the many islands scattered throughout our lake and the beautiful mountain range forming a back drop to the north. I selected to paint a fall collection where the water has a warm hue reflecting the late day light on that warm day in early October.

The La Diable River collection, the biggest in Tremblant National Park, is a favourite spot for kayakers and canoeists enamoured of its wilderness landscapes. "The Meanders of La Diable" offers a six
kilometre trip along serpentine, tranquil river vistas where one can explore the many bends of the river and gliding past its sandy banks. La Diable offers spectacular views of the oldest Laurentian mountains and its wildlife—herons, kingfishers, beavers, and white
tailed deer.

The soft golden sky is the dominate element of this collection. The trees are situated in a more open landscape in Gatineau Park and range from silhouettes of dark tones of brown and purple to a more colourful palette. Dusk is falling upon the region.

Can there be better dreams than those we keep forever in our hearts of our falls – a rhapsody that comes to life as I walk through the trails of the Laurentian or Gatineau hills taking in those spectacular fall colours, new smells in the air particularly of burning leaves or wood and a nice meal gathering our family – I love fall.

Red a colour that brings energy and strong emotions. Rouge enchanté collection captures a collection of trees united side by side majestically showcasing the strong red foliage of Gatineau Park at its peak. I have travelled all across Canada looking for Canada's best fall colours only to find that the most beautiful red and oranges are found in the beautiful forests of the Gatineau hills and Laurentian mountains.

This collection pushes the contemporary boundary. The styilized trees are new for me and the colours, especially the oranges, verge on being electric. As an artist over the years my Fall collection has evolved and this year I did not hold back. The subject is trees found near our lake house in an area called L’Esterel. I like the simplicity of the composition. What the viewer sees is a two
dimensional image of colour and form. It is a collection for those who are not afraid to have a blast of energy on their wall

I was commissioned by a client to paint a view from lac des iles as the family cottage was being sold and they wanted to keep a momentum. The painting will allow the Smith family to remember those great summer and fall days at lac des iles with family.

Charlevoix – the capital of fine Quebec cheeses, the mighty fleuve Saint Laurent, the colourful homes with their metal roofs, bed and breakfasts and cafés welcoming visitors from around the world. Charlevoix – the capital of art galleries and studios of well known Quebec artists. Charlevoix – home of René Richard, an artist who provided me with my strongest inspiration. Whether painting plein air, sipping a glass of wine with local cheeses or skiing Le Massif, Charlevoix is a place I feel is "home". I keep fond memories of the incredible view of Le fleuve Saint Laurent as Phil and I skied down Le Massif; our dinners with “French Girl” and Jacques, and of my visit to the historical property of René Richard and seeing his incredible work yet again. Charlevoix is a place that no one should spare when visiting Quebec.

Walking along la rivière du Nord I encountered a beautiful area where poplars dominate the landscapes of this small municipality in the Laurentian mountains.

The Red Fall Rising Collection is a celebration of colour of the Muskoka region. The ever favourite paper birches and the red maples come alive together on the canvas. The white bark marks a strong contrast to the rich red and orange foliage of the maples This popular series is a strong example of the artist’s woodlands collection where the viewer is up close and within the Canadian forest. 88 1470

On my way to my studio in the Laurentians I always drive by lac Brunet. I can hardly wait to see the scenery as I turn the corner at the tip of the lake where the forest opens up. I have captured on canvas all colours and seasons of this lake. I love to see the sun shining on the lake or snow. If you take a walk around the lake, you will discover the natural habitat of the many interesting creatures living around the lake – it is of the most fascinating places for bird watchers and the many different types of frogs that have made this lake home.

These tulips were a gift from a long time friend who came for Easter dinner. I love tulips and this variety is called a parrot tulip due to the distinctive petal shape and size. I have painted many series of tulips but these had a life of their own and when placed in the large red/orange glass vase made a significant statement in my living room. I waited a few days until they were in full bloom to capture them on canvas.

La rivière du Nord meanders through the southern Laurentian mountains. At point along this water course, the river narrows and the rushing water cascades over large rocks and boulders left from the last ice age. Growing along the steep embarkment the tall black spruces thrive and are highlighted in this collection. The colour palette reflects a strong summer day with a hint of red envy.

Muskoka is Ontario’s favourite year round vacation destination consisting of shimmering lakes and rivers, pink granite shorelines, roaring waterfalls, towering pines and charming towns and villages. It is also Ontario’s premier cottage country where you find architecturally unique boathouses, many over 100 years old. Muskoka’s vernacular forms the focus of this art show. I have painted historic lighthouses, lake side churches, well known hotel landmarks, old and new boathouses, the popular steamships, to name a few all very much a part of the Muskoka landscape. 107 1470
