québec contemporary artist

Born in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean in Québec, Sacha Barrette known as “Sacha,” left his native region to study art at l’Université du Québec in Montréal. He has since travelled throughout

Canada, the United States, south America and France in order to pursue his passion — painting.  Sacha now resides in the Laurentians where the Laurentian landscape provides him with strong inspiration.

Sacha is well known internationally for his alleys and urban scenes of Montreal and for his landscapes. He has contributed internationally to the art scene through his participation in an important series to promote the culture of Chile as well as illustrating the book L’Histoire de Nelson.  He has taught art across Canada and Mexico.

sacha resides within a kilometre from our property in the Laurentians.  I love to drop by his studio and find him at work, paint everywhere, and have a sneak preview of his latest collection.  There are no other artists like him who take you with him down his alleys.
